The advantages of FungalCaseFinder

• Standardization of the procedure based on the possibility of laboratory validation of the specimen obtained from the patient, so that only representative samples will be analyzed;
• Microscopic quantification of patient cells and fungal cells in the sample;
• Determination of fungal “colony forming units” in a defined sample volume;
• Detection of single, mixed and polymicrobial pathogens from the same sample;
• Detection of biofilm production fungi from inner structures;
• Increasing possibility to detect and identify the resistant fungal strains and avoid unnecessary drug overuse;
• This will help to improve already existed knowledge about fungal strains prevalence and resistance in Serbia

New P4 Clinical Mycology Serbian School

Our main goal is to gather researchers with national and international experience and results from leading National Reference Laboratory for Medical Mycology UBMF and establish National Serbian Competence P4 Clinical Mycology School as a promising area of research impacting the healthcare system and society.
